Beyond the deliciousness
On a hot sunny August day, I met a smiling lady, with a wonderful tan, introduced herself as Kim, the Beyond Meat Rep from LA. Not knowing what she was talking about, I immediately saw her Tom’s shoes. Same as mine!! Then came her smell. Wait a minute…yes, the same conditioner bar from LUSH!!
After discussing what she had for me, we went to work! Not knowing what to expect, man did I enjoy our visit! Beyond Meat was a thought from Mr. Ethan Brown. From there, this thought became a realizing with a little help from Un. Of Missouri and Un. Of Maryland and a few others. His focus was one getting the same amount of protein, while living with our animal neighbors. And if I may say, Mr. Brown has done an extremely great job!!
This chicken free chicken goodness is gluten free, has No GMO’s and cholesterol. This complete protein contains 19g of protein, 100 calories and 190mg of sodium for 3 oz. And the texture is completely stupid good!
Here are a few things I did with the strips, which are available at all Whole Foods.
We made A Thai Chicken Wrap:
This is a super easy wrap to make! Mix a little cabbage, shredded carrots and cilantro together with some Sweet Chili Sauce.
Spread a little peanut butter in the middle and on the edges (helps keep the wrap closed), as much Beyond fun as you want and top with a little green onion and toasted sesame seeds!!
And then there came the Wardolff Chicken Salad….Oh yea! We did it.
In a bowl, add a little veganease, toasted walnuts, grapes, celery salt, black pepper, and pinch of lemon zest. Get a box of crackers, made a wrap, or some Whole grain bread! Man its good!
