Those are Vegan?!?!
About 5 months ago, I got into a pretty heated discussion about food items that were vegan and not vegan with a great friend of mine on a camping trip. He couldn’t believe that some Oreos are vegan! This conversation went into great detail about what how some sugars and wines aren’t vegan due to how they are processed, to how certain “jelly” like candies aren’t vegan because of what gelatin is made from. Long story short, being out in the wilderness has a lot of great perks. Unfortunately, when there is no technology to prove him wrong (my word is not valid here), the conversation is just never really over. Until now!!
I recently came across this article on The Huffington Post that does in fact, prove my good ol’ buddy that Oreos are in fact Vegan! Along with some other goodies (not saying these are all healthy choices, just saying that they are vegan choices indeed)!!
The here a few items on the list are…
1- Betty Crocker’s Bac-O’s Bacon Flavor Bits- They are made with soy not real bacon.
#2- Oreos- Don’t let that creamy center fool you! There is no dairy products in there!
#3- Pillsbury Crescent Rolls- Croissants have a very buttery, rich flavor, but these Crescents, use vegetable oils to get that rich flavor, NOT butter.
#4- Ritz Crackers- Yep! A buttery bit that has no animal produces in it. Good call Harrison Ford! Regarding Henry knew all along.
#5- Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Chips- Now there are obviously not a healthy choice of snack, but this particular flavor is in fact animal product free!
#6- Brach’s Mandarin Orange Slices- Now there are in fact a gummy that is gelatin free, but there are some other ingredients in there that I’d think twice about be for eating.
Please feel free to check out the other items on this list by ready the entire article at the link below.
